Wii got lucky!

We have been searching high and low across America (literally from Texas to Minnesota) looking for a Wii Fit and Wii Mario Kart. The girls have been calling our local Walmarts, Targets and Costco daily asking if any shipments had come in. It began to be a daily ritual making the calls. So we decided since we would be driving across America why not stop at Walmarts along the way and search for the Wii's.

On the way home we stopped in a tiny little city called Bethany, Missouri. We saw a small Walmart. It was the smallest I have ever been in. All of the departments were condensed together. It was like a market, not a large store. It made our local store look huge.

Caitlin and I went in to ask if they had any Wii Fits or Mario Karts. The guy told us they did! We were so excited! "Wii" finally found some! When we walked out of the store we could see our van rock'in and could hear the celebration screams from the kids and Ron when they saw the packages in our arms. It was quite the memory!

Bridges of Madison County, Iowa

We decided to sight see on the way home from Iowa. Our first stop was the Bridges of Madison County, Iowa. The wildflowers all around the the bridge areas were gorgeous. I have never seen tiger lilies growing in the wild. The bridge was old and a solid. I was expecting it to creek and wobble. It did not. It smelled like railroad ties that had been tarred. You could stand near the bridge and listen to the river run. It wasn't a clear river. It was brown and muddy. Could be from all of the floods they have had recently. It was a beautiful area. I am glad we stopped.

The Bridge we stopped at was called Holliwell Bridge. Here is s little information about it. "Holliwell Covered Bridge Built in 1880 by Benton Jones, it is the longest covered bridge, measuring 122 feet. It remains in its original site over the Middle River southeast of Winterset. Holliwell was renovated in 1995 at a cost of $225,000. It is featured in The Bridges of Madison County movie." http://www.madisoncounty.com/bridge.html

Tori got her cast off!

Yea, the day finally came. This week Tori got her cast off! She was so happy. She only needs to wear her brace for two weeks, then she is finished. We are so happy for her. She began conditioning for volleyball the day it came off by running. In two weeks she can practice volleyball.

Bobbi Runs a 5K

Bobbi runs or swims every morning (hence her rock solid slender body). One morning while we were there she went out for a run. We wanted her to feel special (hee-hee) when she came running up the block, so we lined the kids up along the driveway and we all cheered her on as she ran through the pretend finish line made out of toilet paper. We kidded her that she has ran a 5K (K stands for kids, since she has 5 kids.) She giggled and said, "I wondered what everyone was doing outside?!"

Swim little fishies

Carol use to sing a song to her kids about little fishies swimming. I know she sang it my girls...she must have sang it to the Lee kids too because boy can they swim! The kids had a lot of fun being crazy in the pool. It was freezing cold water and the temp was in the 60-70's. I still can't believe they were swimming...BRRR!

Wo-who! Kids eat for $1.99 on Wednesday nights...the night we just happen to be there with 10 kids! LOL! "What a baa-gin!"

This was one of the kids favorite coasters...mine too. It was fun and fast!

Jonathan's Big Ride!

This was Jonathan's first roller coaster ride! Way to go Jonathan! It wasn't so bad was it?
