Ron's New Calling...

Today Ron was released as the 2nd Counselor in our ward Bishopric. It was nice to have him leave the stand and come sit with the girls and I for about, oh...3 minutes, until President Pack, asked for his sustaining vote and asked him back up the the stand to sit with the new Bishop. Ron was sustained today as the 1st Counselor in our new ward Bishopric.

It was such a special experience to listen to the setting apart of each member of the Bishopric. I enjoyed being in the presence of our Stake Presidency. They are good men, who lead our stake righteously. I look forward to Ron working in this Bishopric. He will learn so much from Bishop Frank Fults and Brother Jed Allen, 2nd Counselor.

It was a great experience for the girls to sit in the High Council room and listen to the Bishopric be set apart. Victoria mentioned to me that she thought it was interesting to hear all that the new Bishop would be responsible for and the specific keys given to him. I am not sure how much the younger girls will remember of this experience, but I hope, that they will remember the Spirit they felt as the watched this Bishopric set apart. I hope some day when they are looking for a sweet husband, they will remember the characteristics of these fine leaders and how they felt around these Priesthood leaders today.

School Begins!

Can you hear that? SILENCE! Today was the first day of school. The house is so quiet and I am enjoying it! I look forward to cleaning an area of the house and knowing it will stay clean ALL day. Hee-hee!

Tiffany is upstairs watching Phineas and Ferb...she loves having the TV to herself and I can sense she enjoys the peace and quiet also. Here are the first day of school pictures...

End of Summer Rambling Thoughts...

The girls are each dreading the beginning of school. But, like I tell them, once they get back into the school routine everything will fall into place. Victoria went and picked up her schedule and talked to a few of her friends...none of which were in her classes. Her next remark to me was,"Will you home school me?" I have to giggle here... it's more like, I should be asking her to home school me! She is so smart, like her dad. The last person to be home schooling a child is me! (I am still giggling!)

All the school shopping is complete, the pantry is stocked (and yes, the food storage closet too!), and I am ready for Monday morning! I do have to say that, I will be a bit teary eyed when I see my girls go to school. I miss them. I worry about them. It is sad, yet exciting to see them grow up.

So, what's next for the Turner family? We are looking forward to Tori trying out for the volleyball team. We are crossing our fingers she makes the team again! Go Tori! Go Tori! Go Tori! GOOD LUCK "Spiking Queen"!

Strange Things we saw on the Road

Crazy Carpenter Cousin Moments

Carpenter Family Reunion - Grandmother's 92nd Birthday Celebration! - Sugar House - East High (High School Musical)

While in Salt Lake City, we were also able to attend the Carpenter family reunion and celebrate my Grandmother's 92nd birthday. It was so special being with aunts, uncles and cousins again. All of the cousin's kids were so cute and very animated! (what Carpenter isn't? ;-) It made for a special evening and a great way to end the Pioneer Day, 24th of July celebration! We miss yall so much! We enjoyed being back in Sugar House and the fun memories that I have of the area.
