Lake Quinault & The Olympic National Forest - The World's Largest Blue Spruce Tree

As a child my family made a trip, if not yearly, then every two years, out to the Washington coast. My favorite thing to do was visit the Olympic National Forest. This area is stunningly beautiful, with thick, dense forests and green moss hanging from all of the tree limbs. The rain storms frequently come off of the Pacific, and lodge themselves over this area as the clouds try to climb the Olympic Mountains. Because of the rain, the area is just lovely.

We took a detour off highway 101 to see the World's Largest Spruce Tree, and when we did, we drove right to Lake Quinault. A lodge that I went to once when I was a child. It was neat to see it again.

Here are a few pictures of the Olympic National Forest, Lake Quinault Lodge and the World's Largest Blue Spruce Tree. Click on the photos to enlarge them.
