Tiffany's First Field Trip - Fire Station

Tiffany's preschool recently took a field trip to the local fire station. She was a bit frightened by the enormous trucks. It wasn't until the end of the tour that she finally began to relax. This fire crew was very kind to the children. They showed them their kitchen, living quarters, the trucks, ladders, tools, and even let them run a fire hose. I was very impressed with the entire experience. Thank you Willowbrook FD!

THS Homecoming

Victoria had lots of fun last week as she participated in her first high school Homecoming week!

She looked so funny on nerd day, had a blast riding on the volleyball team float in the homecoming parade, played in the homecoming volleyball game, wore her first Homecoming Mum, enjoyed her first high school football game, and was flattered that she was asked to homecoming three times, by three different guys- but graciously declined since she isn't 16 years old and doesn't date yet.

Some of you may be asking, "What is a homecoming mum?" And to you I say, a big waste of money. (haha!) No really, this is just the strangest tradition here in the south. I had never heard of this before and was really quite clueless up until last week.

Her friends told her to go to a few stores to look at and price homecoming mums. (Typically, your and you homecoming date buy them for each other and you wear them on Friday, the day of the big football game.) Seeing that she wasn't taking a date and "all her friends were wearing one!", off we went to Kroger. The Florist educated us (so we thought) on the mums and which grade wore what length and colors etc. We were told that Freshman only wear them to the waist and Seniors wore only white and silver and their mums went to the ground. The mum has your name on it, what sports you play, and if you are going with a date - their name is on it too.

Seeing how expensive they were (some were up to $150), Tori went to the local craft store and she made her own mum. I have to say she did a really good job! However, when she got to school, everyone wore a long mum. She said she "felt like a dork". But hey, I thought she looked cute. So, now that we have had our "guinea pig" make it through our first homecoming in Texas, we now know better!

Courtney and Caitlin have been playing on their school volleyball team. They play back row and are receivers. They are speedy quick and I love watching them dive for balls!

On the way home from their tournament, we got stuck at a rail road crossing...for quite some time. While waiting, we saw this van drive past us. We thought it was funny. The band inside the van was all dressed up. The things you see in Texas!

Some Serious Wii Tourneys

When the Turner's pull out the Wii, it's usually a pretty fierce competition. Here are two pics that I think describes this well...

You can see here who the over all champion was. The girls put up a good fight. I must add though, if I had been playing...this would not have been the outcome. That would be me, the champion. Ya know how it is, sometimes Mom's just have to sit out a few games so someone else can win. (wink. wink.)

Victoria's 15th Birthday!

Yes, it happened again...my oldest had another birthday. Can you believe that? No matter how much I wish she'd stop growing up, it just doesn't work. This birthday, she was pretty excited because she gets her drivers permit.

My family was so good to me this year on my birthday. Steak dinner, roses, and gifts! Thanks to my sweet family for the fun memories.

Went Private

Some of you have been asking why I decided to take my blog private. I made this choice because some people in Europe had been reading my blog since the beginning of August and downloading photos of the twins and a few of Tori. They really dug into the blog and did a lot of research throughout the years I have blogged. At first I thought it was just someone who had stumbled upon the blog and was just looking around, but then I noticed they kept coming back and downloading more photos. It was just odd. Such weirdos out there.

PS Some of you have sent messages asking how I found out this person was visiting my blog. I signed up for Statcounter.com This site tells you who comes to your blog, what paths they take, how long they visit, what they look at, what they download, etc.

Congratulations to Courtney & Caitlin...

...They made the Junior High volleyball team!

Last night was their first game of the season! They actually got to be on the court together for quite some time. The coaches only got mixed up a "few times"! (It was actually really funny to watch them get confused! tee-hee!) At one point during the game, the coach yelled,"Turner!", they both looked at her and both said,"what?". Then the other coach said,"Uh-oh, you have them both out on the court!" They (the coaches) did laugh...eventually. I think the coaches are going to need to figure out a way to tell them apart on the court. The twins actually played the back row together for most of the game. The two peas in a pod, make a great team together on the back row.

Our Snake Visitor

Well, it wouldn't be right if I didn't have a post in my blog, at least once a year about a snake in my yard! So, here is the post...

Last weekend Tiffany and her sisters went out to get into the pool. Tiffany was having fun in the water, when the twins and Brianne spotted this gem, taking a little swim with Tiffany. Needless to say, Tiffany was freaked out.

The girls took pictures of the snake and then went on the internet, to see what kind of snake it was. They tried to catch the snake with the pool net, to kill it, but he was just way too fast. Eventually, the snake swam down the drain and was sucked into the pool filters and died. GROSS!

I wish this photo was better...Courtney's cheek is turned a little. The day this picture was taken, the twins were really looking identical. I couldn't help but stare at them, each time I saw them together.

The twins have been having some fun at school lately...they love to tease their teachers and their teachers enjoy teasing right back. They decided to dress identically one day last week just for fun! The comments they heard all day were,"Whoa, you have a twin? and "Look there's two of them!" and "Wow!", and "Oh no, they are dressed the same!"

Most days they have lots of fun being twins, and a small percentage of the days, it is difficult being a twin.

As the Mom, I have to say, I love it when the dress the same! Still to this day, after 13 years, I think to myself,"Wow, look what my body created! This is so COOL!"

Tiffany's Fan Club

There is a family that lives across the street from us, and their boys adore Tiffany. (Personally, I think they like her blonde hair.) They come over each day to see if she can play.
